Grown men with 10 cm century

Meanwhile, during the XX century, women have grown by about 3 cm - from just under 1.60 m to just over 1.63 meters

The modern man has grown 10 cm in the last century because of improved diet and health, scientists found.

In 1900 the average man was just 1.67 meters tall, while in 2000 it was "extended" to 1.77 m.

For the same period women have grown by about 3 cm - from just under 1.60 m to just over 1.63 m.

The researchers said the reason for this is that pregnant women eat better food and their babies get stronger and healthier.

Improved hygiene and technological progress plays a role in saving mankind from endless diseases, malnutrition and severe conditions.

American Nobel Prize for Economics Robert Vogel and a team of colleagues spent three decades in the study of statistics to show how we have changed from 1700 onwards.Scientists found that people not only live longer but are also becoming higher.

"In most if not all parts of the world, the size, shape and length of life of the human body have changed significantly and more rapidly over the past three centuries," says Vogel.

He is convinced that technology saved humanity from disease, starvation and severe conditions.

In XIX century the typical farmer has spent working 78 hours during the workweek from five and a half days.

Conservation of water and sanitation have prevented many diseases, and ensuring a good food for pregnant women, which is transmitted to the unborn child has made them stronger and less vulnerable to disease.
